Front of the hospital

CityPaws Animal Hospital officially opened its doors in April 2006 by Drs. Wendy Knight and Sarah Bowman. Over the past several years, they have worked hard to assemble a team of caring, compassionate and highly skilled veterinary professionals that share the same dedication of delivering the highest quality veterinary care while also building strong and lasting client relationships. It is through these things that we can establish a foundation of good health for our patients.

We are a full service veterinary hospital, providing a complete list of comprehensive medical, dental and surgical care for dogs and cats. Our facilities, equipment and services are designed to help our patients enjoy long, happy and healthy lives. We strive to stay on top of all the latest advances in veterinary medicine and to always deliver our services in a way that provides each patient with the individualized care and attention that they deserve.

At CityPaws Animal Hospital, we also believe strongly that you, as a caring pet owner, should play an active role in your pet’s health care, which is why we do our very best to provide our clients with all the tools and education needed to make the best decisions for their animal companions. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.

In addition to our passion for animal health care, our staff is also committed to giving back to the communities we serve. We work closely with the Washington Animal Rescue league (WARL) and perform all first post-adoption visits free of charge. We also work closely with CityDogs Rescue and help with the medical care for their rescues and fosters. We are active in the Logan Circle and U Street Corridor areas and we participate in a variety of community events, such as the Dog Days of Summer held every August.

At CityPaws Animal Hospital, your pet’s health and well being is very important to all of us and we want you to know that we will take every measure necessary to give your animal companion the best possible care. Our goal is to keep your pet healthy and happy, so that you can enjoy each other’s company for many years to come. We look forward to welcoming you both to our clinic and to becoming your trusted partner in all of your veterinary care needs.
